|If you wish to
the delightful rolling hills and pretty villages of the Cotswolds
in combination with an Oxford tour or separately then Rob Walters is
your man. He is a Gloucestershire man and lives part of his life in
Stow-on-the-Wold. His tours often focus on that town and its
neighbours in the Cotswolds such as: Bourton-on-the-Water, The
Slaughters, Northleach, etc. His patch is the North Cotswolds including
the gateway towns of Burford, Cheltenham, Woodstock and Broadway and
out to Chipping Cambden.
Rob's speciality is a one day tour of the North Cotswolds starting and finishing in Oxford usually for two or three people. He will drive you around some of the top spots providing interesting commentary. The tour usually lasts for eight hours. Transport, in an Oxford-built mini or a larger vehicle for a small supplement, is provided but not refreshments.
Rob also conducts the Battle for Stow Walk based upon one of his books. It starts in Stow on the Wold, visits a delightful church at Broadwell, then the charming village of Donnington and the nearby site of the last battle of the English civil war, returning through sheep dotted fields to Stow. Along the way Rob will tell you of the historic battle and its background, and of the battles that continue in contemporary Stow. Allow three hours for the walk which covers about five miles over hilly but gentle country.
There are no regular tours so if you are looking to join a bigger group then try the Oxford Visitor Information Centre.
Coach tours can be arranged or Rob can provide guiding and commentary for coach parties.
